Liberty Lightning Swim Team

The Liberty Lightning Swim Team was established in 1991 and has been going strong ever since! Our program offers the opportunity for all swimmers to thrive and succeed in an upbeat and fun atmosphere. One of our primary goals is to motivate swimmers to achieve the most from their efforts-not by being the best, but by trying their best. With a focus on individual improvement, teamwork and good sportsmanship, your kids are sure to have a great time.

The Liberty Lightning Swim Team is part of the Washtenaw Interclub Swim Conference (WISC). The conference is made up of other area clubs including but not limited to, Barton Hills, Georgetown, Veterans Pool, Buhr Park and Travis Point. The team is open to all Liberty Athletic Club members, ages 5 to 17. There are five swim meets held on Saturday mornings throughout June and July. The season culminates with the league championships in late July. Within the swim program there are many fun happenings such as a swim and pizza party for ages 8 and under, swimming and a movie for ages 9 and up, our very own Special Pep Rally and the end of the season Ice Cream Social for all age groups. Parents play a vital role in making the swim program a success by helping to run meets and the planning of the social events.

Our program is unique in that the Liberty Lightning Swim Team practices within a state-of-the-art health club that allows the best possible fitness and health opportunities for the entire family. Parents can drop their swimmers off for practice and stay at the club to enjoy the best workout experience in the Ann Arbor area. To keep kids in tiptop competitive shape, we offer an off-season Swim Team Workout. In addition to year round and summer memberships, we now offer a swim team membership for those children ages 12 through 17.
